Everyone’s mental health recovery will look different. Not just because our needs and experiences are unique, but because privilege and access to care are very real. But I wanted to share this glimpse into what life with a mental illness looks like for me, and how much work is involved in maintaining my recovery.
Almost daily, I get messages like these. Asking me if life with a mental illness will always be this hard. I don’t know your story — but I can tell you mine.
